Job Description


OVERVIEW

Responsible for assuring that trucks and trailers are positioned in the appropriate location and that they are maintained and functioning properly, along with handling pick-ups and deliveries as needed utilizing a Class A CDL vehicle.


RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Make scheduled pick-ups at assigned vendors.
  2. Act as a relief driver to assist without service reasons.
  3. Perform special deliveries to stores or other events as scheduled.
  4. Position trucks and trailer at the appropriate dock location.
  5. Turn on refer units and ensure the units are functioning properly.
  6. Ensure the cooler and freezer areas of the trailer are at appropriate temperatures prior to products being loaded.
  7. Hook tractors with assigned trailers.
  8. Deliver truck to fuel island for re-fueling purposes.
  9. Run equipment through wash bay and hand polish chromes wheels and bumpers as assigned.
  10. Maintain daily activity log to reflect positioning, fueling, repairs, etc. by equipment and type.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School / GED / Sheetz training

Experience

  • 3 years of driving experience with a Class A CDL vehicle

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License
  • Must maintain medical certification in accordance with company policy
