Aviation Maintenance Intern

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Martinsburg, PA

 

The Sheetz Internship Program is a 10 – 12 week full or part time program that focuses on providing college students with hands-on experience.  You will be responsible for participating in real projects that will contribute to the success of Sheetz.  You will get to collaborate with managers, other departments, your fellow interns, and Senior Leadership.  Our goal at Sheetz is to transform the most qualified applicants into future full-time Sheetz employees! 

 

DURATION: 10 – 12 WEEKS

HOURS: FULL AND PART TIME HOURS

ANTICIPATED START DATE: MAY 2020

ANTICIPATED END DATE: AUGUST 2020

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The intern will be participating in ensuring company aircraft are kept in the highest state of cleanliness and readiness for flight and that the Sheetz, Inc. hangar and surrounding property are in a safe and satisfactory condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Maintain aircraft, facility, and support equipment.
  2. Maintain inventory of aircraft parts, equipment and tools.
  3. Complete required Fuel Farm maintenance, testing, and record keeping.
  4. Fuel company aircraft at home domicile
  5. Order parts for the company aircraft, support equipment, and hangar facility.
  6. Update aviation software quarterly to ensure accurate maps and airport statuses.
  7. Dispatch and receipt of aircraft - Giving attention to company culture and Total Customer Focus by assisting passengers in any appropriate manner.
  8. Clean and stock company aircraft and hangar facility to a high standard


REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education

  • Must be attending Aviation Maintenance Technical school or College in pursuit of a degree in Aviation Maintenance
  • OR Aviation Trade school such as military training which meets the FAA requirements for testing for the Aircraft and Powerplant written exams.

Experience

  • Must have at least 900 hours or 1 year of aviation repair/mechanic technical school completed.

Licenses/Certifications

  • FAA Airframe and Power plant certificate

Tools & Equipment

  • Hand tools (hammer, measuring devices, wrench, level, etc.)
  • Power Hand tools (Mpac Wrench, drill press, grinders, sanders, etc.)
  • Pneumatic tools (compressor, pneumatic hand tools, etc.)
  • Motorized Equipment (pressure washer, Aircraft Tugger, etc.)
