Senior IT Strategist

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Provide advanced guidance and assistance to business units to help understand the challenges and opportunities that exist when applying technology solutions to business needs. Build and maintain positive relationships between IT and business units. Represent the needs of business unit personnel to IT planning groups, and likewise represent the needs of IT to the business unit personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Represent multiple business units within the organization. Possess advanced knowledge of the business processes and technology solutions in use by those business units.
  2. Escalation resource for all business unit personnel when dealing with challenging IT situations. The Senior IT Strategist is expected to be the liaison with the appropriate IT disciplines who are engaged with the situation, rather being the primary technical resource to solve the problem.
  3. Develop, negotiate, publish, and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in conjunction with business units and IT disciplines for agreed upon solutions.
  4. Analyze and review actual service performance against existing SLAs. Agree on appropriate actions to improve service performance as needed. The Senior IT Strategist is the primary contact for IT/Business Unit needs and must bridge the gap between business and technology.
  5. Act as a coordination point for any temporary changes to business / technical processes. Must be able to independently assess requirements and scope changes.
  6. Monitor the IT Strategy Intake Process and Release Planning activities, confirming that efforts are appropriately laddering up to Corporate or IT Strategic Initiative Projects.
  7. Provide mentoring / coaching on the Agile Process to less experienced IT Strategists, other IT personnel, and business unit personnel.
  8. Coordinate teams that may include peer-level professionals, specialized technicians, managers, contractors, consultants and/or customers.
  9. Provide evening and weekend “on call / issue” support as needed. Sheetz is open 24/7/365 and as such, our internal and external customers may require support at any time.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
    A four-year degree in Management Information Systems, Organizational Leadership or an applicable Business area; or a four year degree in another field of study which includes courses in information systems, leadership, and business is preferred
Experience
  • 7 years of applicable experience in a technology environment, to include:

    • 3 years of experience in a technology / business liaison role
  • Experience with meeting facilitation or leadership strategies is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
    Facilitation or Leadership certification is preferred
