SDS HR Generalist - 2nd Shift

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA

Sheetz Distribution is looking for a 2nd Shift HR Generalist to join our team of HR experts who provides support to Department Managers, Department Leads, HR Business Partners, and employees.  This position provides support in all aspects of human resources, including, but not limited to, employee relations and culture. Provide guidance to managers, leads and employees through interpreting policies and administering procedures in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines and company policies.  This position reports onsite Monday thru Thursday 10:00am - 8:00pm. Possible weekends/holidays depending on need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Respond to SDS Department Managers and SDS Department Leads, employees and applicants regarding a broad range of human resources and employee relations issues on a daily basis.
  2. Coordinate and conduct Employee Relations investigations in conjunction with SDS Management, including approving disciplinary action up to and including termination in accordance with company policy.
  3. Manage the Talent Acquisition process and provide recommendations to enhance recruitment program.
  4. Serve as a trainer/presenter at various company orientations, trainings and events.
  5. Collect, analyze and present data related to human resources and special projects.
  6. Coordinate employee medical and workers’ compensation leave, including the light duty accommodation process.
  7. Assist with the development, alignment and implementation of company policies, procedures and programs.
  8. Facilitate and coordinate special events for SDS including, but not limited to, employee events, Sheetz For the Kids and employee recognition events.


REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)


  • 4 year degree in Human Resource or Business related field required



  • 3 years of general HR experience required



  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification Preferred
