Payments Assistant Manager

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA



Provide accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and work with the Payment Manager to create and manage strategies across all existing or potential payment partnerships. Work with various external and internal teams for execution of multi-channel marketing plans. Responsible to keep abreast of payment industry and regulations, work directly with IT to implement and understand the technical aspects of payments along with supporting the negotiation of vendor contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Analyze primary and secondary research to understand customer needs to create business plans for recommendation
  2. Develop positioning strategies and value propositions for the assigned customer segments and execute initiatives to drive acquisition, engagement & retention.
  3. Assess competitive environment and market dynamics to identify and communicate trends
  4. Provide recommendations to revise and enhance products to stimulate sales and meet objectives
  5. Partner with Brand to develop collateral material, advertising, and promotional programs; and ensure that they align with the products segment’s brand strategy and value proposition
  6. Collaborate with other functional groups to deliver training and support to ensure products are sold effectively
  7. Monitor payment portfolio performance and proactively identify and execute areas of opportunity.
  8. Provide support to the Payments Regional Sales Managers to acquire additional fleets and fuel gallons.
  9. Review and recommend contract revisions and terms. Work with Legal department and Payment Manager to implement contracts, renewals and terms.
  10. Participate in payment technical calls in order to assist making payment decisions related to the business project.
  11. Engage in continuous education as it relates to the Payment Industry, including formal class training, webinars, conferences, payment committees and networking opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

    Bachelor’s Degree in business related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years financial services issuance, acquiring, or payment network experience required
  • Credit Card and or other financial services /marketing experience required.
