IT Unit Manager - Infrastructure

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA

The IT Infrastructure Unit Manager is primarily responsible for the performance, training, discipline and development of assigned Infrastructure technologists. The Infrastructure Unit Manager also provides input and assistance with budgeting, financial management and technical system design, selection, implementation and operation.

  • Maximize the development and performance of internal talent through regular coaching, counseling and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and facilitate individual development plans (IDPs), to include both formal and informal development opportunities, for direct reports.
  • Align area and individuals’ objectives with the strategic goals of the Department.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for assigned area of responsibility and monitor spend and performance to optimize organizational profitability.
  • Supervise, support and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders for the prioritization, scheduling and timely completion of the unit’s assigned project work, as applicable.
  • Supervise the unit’s service desk work to ensure tickets are being acknowledged and resolved in accordance with established OLAs and/or other metrics and KPIs, as applicable.
  • Assist and collaborate in the development of KPIs for assigned systems in order to objectively assess system performance and to identify opportunities for action and improvement.
  • Manage and effectively resolve both intra- and inter-team conflict.
  • Provide evening and weekend support to the team as needed. Sheetz is open 24/7/365 and, as such, our internal and external customers may require support at any time.




  • A four-year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering; or a four-year degree in another field of study which includes courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering is preferred



  • 10 years of applicable experience in a technology environment, to include:
  • 6 years of multi-person team management experience, including task assignment, performance coaching and reviews, hiring and firing, and conflict management
  • Demonstrated experience in an advanced leadership role, including cross functional team leadership



  • MCSE, CCNP or vendor equivalent certification is preferred.
