Field Operations Manager

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA



The café Field Operations Manager is a Sheetz ambassador and liaison between our field employees and our corporate support staff. Responsible for the profitable operation of all the Sheetz cafés.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Works as a Team with the Corporate Support Manager and General Managers to ensure there is a customer first culture and develops a working environment that is aligned with the Sheetz culture and promotes and provides each employee with a successful work experience
    • Regularly conducts store visits and inspections
    • Regular review and resolution of customer complaints
    • Ensures the delivery of the Mission in each store in the district
  2. Ensures staffed stores with trained Management Team Members and Sales Associates trying to focus on a 50/50 Full-Time and Part-Time workforce and promoting the execution of relevant programs, policies and procedures
  3. Interaction with current District Managers and incorporate into current organizational structures to remain informed on what’s operationally changing to relay any relevant information
  4. Understanding direct competitors’ hiring points and adapting as much as they can to help drive candidate flow (in conjunction with staffing specialists), including how to find the "right" manager to run a café store, knowing that it takes a special candidate to manage the different nuances of a café store
    • Ensures that management holds successful store meetings
    • Ensures that management is providing a positive work environment for all employees
    • Ensures that all employees are treated fairly and consistently
  5. Provides leadership and managerial development to store managers
    • Serves as a coach, mentor and teacher to store managers
    • Creates an environment for Store managers to grow and develop
    • Providing store managers special assignments, as appropriate and necessary, to provide professional growth
    • Utilizes and builds upon Employee Engagement results
  6. Researches financials to see how the store can be more profitable as café stores lack the ability to “hide behind fuel”
    • Understanding pricing strategy with competition to help corporate departments determine a viable decision on whether pricing model at the store is to high/low
    • Reviews monthly individual statements with store managers; reviews quarterly store report card with store managers

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Sheetz store manager or other relevant management experience required
  • Sheetz operations experience preferred
  • ServSafe within 6 months of beginning in position
  • Valid driver's license when using a company vehicle
