Compensation Manager

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA



Collaborates with the Senior Compensation Manager in the development, implementation, and administration of all corporate compensations programs, policies, and procedures. Responsible for managing compensation processes for all corporate jobs, including SDS and CLI. This will include, but not be limited to, overseeing job documentation, job evaluation, market data analysis, offer recommendations, the annual merit increase cycle, and processing of quarterly bonuses. This position will also prepare all Compensation Committee materials in support of monthly meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Work closely with Human Resources Business Partners regarding ongoing compensation management, job evaluation, program/plan design, and other compensation related topics to produce accurate and insightful reports, analyses, and presentations.
  2. Conduct market analysis, compensation studies and formulate recommendations on promotions, internal equity, market adjustments, and external salary offers, as required, including participating in a variety of compensation surveys.
  3. Participate in the annual merit and bonus cyclical processes, which includes testing, implementation, communication and training.
  4. Provide all monthly documentation (agendas, job descriptions, organizational charts, comparison matrices, and meeting minutes) to the Compensation Committee to properly evaluate new / revised positions.
  5. Maintain and distribute the Corporate/SDS/CLI Wage Chart, specifically following Compensation Committee meetings and annual updates.
  6. Maintain all job descriptions across the organization to ensure a consistent and accurate job repository.
  7. Collaborate with HRIS to recommend efficient and effective ways to carry out core responsibilities for corporate compensation and HR employee data.
  8. Prepare ad hoc compensation studies as requested by leadership, which may also result in the design of special bonus programs.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)


  • 4-year degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in compensation administration and design required
  • Minimum 3 year’s supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation practices & equity packages with an ability to provide guidance to leaders and employees through a consultative approach required
  • Experience with compensation market analysis, design software and benchmarking tools required
  • Retail compensation experience preferred


  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred

***This is a hybrid opportunity that requires being on site at our Claysburg, PA headquarters 3 days per week, and flexibility to work remotely for 2 days per week.
