Social Media Engagement Specialist

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Claysburg, PA



The primary purpose of this position is to grow and protect our brand on various social media channels through engagement with our fans, identifying and acting upon trends in a timely manner and listening for topics that could negatively impact Sheetz in the minds of our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Supports and grows our online community through continuing engagement and best practices on each social platform (including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat, and other social platforms as determined).
  2. Serves as brand evangelist by actively engaging with all conversations relating to our brand in the social space and responds to customer comments including service issues.
  3. Proactively seeks opportunities for further organic growth by staying up to date on trends in the news, pop culture references and language/slang.
  4. Monitors all user-generated activity on each social media platform on a daily basis to proactively create conversations and build relationships as well as gain permission to use relevant customer content for our channels.
  5. Displays excellent customer care and support for consumers with inquiries or concerns via each social platform.
  6. Works alongside the Social Media Manager and strategic social media partners to develop content ideas that our fan base will engage with and relate to in order to maximize engagement.
  7. Implements Day-to-day social media strategies and tools.
  8. Assists in the planning and coordination of online social media programs or contests in order to maximize results and achieve objectives.
  9. Develops and presents ideas, strategies and workflows relating to the social media realm in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Publish content and live event coverage on social media platforms as needed.
  11. Tracks effectiveness of individual posts to identify the best opportunities for engagement based on the response from our customers.
  12. Demonstrates impeccable communication skills, high attention to detail, and decision-making abilities that will be required as part of the everyday demands of this position.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media communications or related field required
  • Experience in social media marketing for business accounts required
  • Experience with social media management platforms required
  • Experience in social media copywriting for marketing required
