IT Procurement Technologist

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Altoona, PA

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Responsible for the accounting / procurement activities within IT, including functional areas: Invoice Processing, Purchase Orders, Vendor Management, Procurement Activities and Inventory Controls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Verify accuracy of invoices, including confirmation that materials/services were received before processing for payment begins. Identify proper GL/Project assignments and code appropriately.
  2. Based on research and requirements and/or product pricing/availability, identify potential vendors. Execute all forms and procedures for new Vendor onboarding. Provide vendor scorecards to evaluate vendor performance.
  3. Prepare drafted agreement information, documents and correspondence. Maintain records in document file structure.
  4. Complete tasks to meet or exceed quality requirements and schedule.
  5. Create Purchase Orders as required. Execute purchasing of products based on requirements and product pricing/availability. Identify trends in vendor performance.
  6. Possess in depth knowledge of applicable IT tools, including Accounting, Budgeting, Purchasing & Inventory systems, and of the methods the tools support.
  7. Participate in group meetings and training opportunities to improve knowledge and skills as they relate to job duties.
  8. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the IT Admin department and services performed.
  9. Communicate progress in status reports.
  10. Provide Accounting/Procurement assistance to less experienced IT Admin personnel.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
    A four-year degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or Accounting; or a four year degree in another field of study which includes courses in Information Systems or Accounting is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum three years of applicable experience is required.
  • One year of experience in a technology environment with an emphasis on purchasing and Vendor Management is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
    TBM or Purchasing certification is preferred.
