The safety and well-being of our staff and customers is a top priority at Sheetz. We’ve taken many steps in our stores to reduce the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) in every community in which we operate. We work closely with local health and government officials as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In addition, Sheetz has established a number of preventive measures, in accordance with CDC recommendations, for both our employees and customers.

Here are a few changes Sheetz has made in the stores during the Covid-19 Crisis.

Installed plexiglass at registers and MTO pick up areas:  Creates a physical barrier as an added precaution to keep our employees and customers safe.

Implemented social distancing in the store - six feet apart:  All employees and customers must maintain social distancing of 6 feet when possible. We encourage this through the use of visible signage throughout the store, and voice downs to customers from our Security Operations team when needed. Social distancing is also encouraged through digital presentations at the gas pumps and in the stores.

Enhanced technology and encouraged online ordering:  Customers have been encouraged to use online ordering, curbside pickup, delivery and SHcan & Go to help limit person-to-person contact and cash transactions.

Enhanced cleaning procedures:  In addition to continuing with our routine cleaning procedures, we have added hours to our daily schedule dedicated to cleaning and sanitizing our stores. This effort is focused on high touch surface areas such as gas pumps, touch-screen order points, counter tops, door handles, cash registers, credit machines and ATMS. We also conduct hourly sanitizing and daily disinfecting of all high traffic touch points.

Required frequent hand washing:  Employees regularly and thoroughly clean their hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or wash them with soap and water for 20 seconds. Sanitizer has been placed at all registers and near high-contact areas throughout the support buildings.

Implemented employee wellness checks:  Manager on Duty conducts a wellness check with all employees prior to the start of their shift.

Wearing facemasks:  All Sheetz employees are now required to wear facemasks while on the clock, adding an additional level of protection to prevent the spread of virus.

Tell employees to stay home if they are sick:  If an employee is not feeling well, they are instructed to stay home and get well before coming back in to the store.

What happens when we have an employee test positive for COVID-19: We follow the CDC guidelines. Both employees and our customers are notified in the event of a positive diagnosis. We close the store to do a deep cleaning when circumstances dictate.  This is completed by an outside company who cleans the store inside and outside, including the gas pumps.

Employee Illness or Mandatory Quarantine:  Any employee who is diagnosed with COVID-19 or whom is quarantined due to direct exposure, will not be penalized for absences related to the illness.  Employees will also be eligible for emergency pay for workdays missed.
